I think the reason my mom and her old boyfriend broke up is because once, when I was around 8 or younger (I am 20 now), he held me up in the air and pinned me against the wall out of anger over something I can’t remember. They dated for at least a few years before that. Every once in a while I’ll recall the memory and nearly doubt it happened but I’m afraid to ask my mom what she thought about it and if that was the reason they broke up.
